Personal wellness has never felt so important. More than just a lifestyle pursuit, health and wellbeing has quickly become an everyday imperative for home, work, and within the public sphere.

Join Alicia McKimm (Golden), Dale O’Brien (Gray Puksand), Richard Healy (Bates Smart) and Lisa Gasperotti (Porta Mouldings) as we explore the meaning of wellness in a post-pandemic world, how biophilic design can influence our lives for the better and how designers are creating a roadmap for better living going forward.

Tonya Hinde

With a personal aim to ‘humanize’ spaces, big or small, and over 26 years of experience, Tonya Hinde stands out as a collaborative leader in the Australian architectural industry. She is renowned for working with multiple stakeholders and high level technical requirements to deliver on creative and vibrant design outcomes. She shares BLP’s deeply held belief that our future is dependent on creating healthy buildings and environments, and that good design is instrumental in making people feel better.

Tonya has been a significant contributor to BLP’s ground breaking healthcare design work, from the landmark Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne, Perth Children’s Hospital to The Orygen Development for Youth Mental Health. The powerful combination of expanded research in universal wellbeing, along with inspired design outcomes, has become Tonya’s signature.

Alicia McKimm

Alicia ensures uniqueness infuses all projects, design excellence paramount aligned with close collaboration with all involved. Functional ingenuity with pragmatic, sensible resolutions are a constant focus, a belief design should work and always be beautiful. Her approach is driven by a desire to express intelligence, minimalism and wonder through design.

Alicia’s questionable nature ensures all components of our projects are constantly reviewed, this discourse ever present amongst the GOLDEN team.

Dale O’Brien

Dale O’Brien is an Interior Designer with demonstrated experience over 20 years with the primary focus of leading wellness, workspace, retail and commercial projects at Gray Puksand.

Passionate about creating enriched, empathetic, people-centric experiences through excellent and accomplished skills and an intimate understanding of construction methodology, programming and consultant coordination, coupled with a desire for inspired outcomes enables Dale to produce work at the cutting edge of design that will have real impact.

Richard Healy

Richard Healy is continually inspired by the capacity of good design to positively improve the daily experience.

He has an extensive range of project and sector experience, but is particularly passionate about workplace design and the transformative potential to impact the day-to-day working experience.

Richard has strong collaborative and team leadership skills and relishes the opportunity to form long-lasting relationships with clients. He particularly enjoys translating client aspirations and working with the team to successfully deliver a project.

Since joining Bates Smart, Richard has worked on a number of significant workplace projects including Australian Unity, BCG, Australian Super, Australian Embassy in Washington DC, and the 101 Collins Street Masterplan, alongside some significant hospitality projects including Westin Hotel Darwin and Bourke Street Green.

Lisa Gasperotti

Lisa Gasperotti is a well-respected building products executive, having spent the majority of her career thus far working with Australia’s most influential developers, builders, architects and designers. With a career spanning over 25 years, Lisa has worked closely with industry colleagues, across a myriad of market segments, successfully delivering projects such as Lighthouse Tower, Prima Pearl, Penleigh and Essendon Grammar, The Royal Childrens Hospital and the VCCC. With a highly developed understanding of how the built environment influences our behaviour, Lisa has a passion for product development and providing fit-for-purpose solutions in the demanding commercial construction space. Lisa manages a team of commercial specification and industrial specialists, with a focus on designing and delivering Australian made products from certified and sustainable timbers.
